Call for scientific collaborators

The Institute of Statistical Research, Analysis and Documentation (ISRAD) is a University Research Institute affiliated with the Department of Statistics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (Greece).

ISRAD is interested in collaborating with external scientific partners/collaborators in a variety of capacities in the following areas:

  • Monitoring and identifying funding programs in Greece and abroad related to the research objectives of the Institute, in which ISRAD will participate as the coordinating organization. Examples include the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) program 2014-2020 (Greece), the European Research Council (ERC) grants, the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions, the High Performance Computing (HPP-PPP) projects, the e-infrastructures program as well as the bilateral/transnational partnerships of Greece with other european or non-european countries.

  • Preparation and submission of research proposals in order to attract funds under the aforementioned programs as well as administrative monitoring of the proposals on behalf of ISRAD to the point of the final approval by the respective funding agencies.

The possible forms of collaboration include (but are not limited to) the following:

a) The Institute can serve as the host Institution or research partner for researchers who want to submit a proposal for a topic related to its activities. In such a case the researcher will be the Principle Investigator of the project and will be fully responsible for it.

b) The collaborator can serve as a grant coordinator and/or grant manager. In case of direct scientific involvement and contribution the researcher will be part of the scientific group (with a suitable remuneration).

For candidates with appropriate qualifications, the possibility of cooperating with ISRAD as an Associate Researcher will be considered.

The specific terms of collaboration will be set out in the collaboration agreement between ISRAD and the researchers.

The selection of collaborators will be based on the content of their application and further to an interview that will take place. Qualifications that will be carefully considered:

a)  Degrees attained and past experience: at least a Master’s degree is required, though priority will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. and/or postdoctoral experience.

b)  Previous experience in writing/compiling research proposals for programs in Greece and abroad.

c)  Excellent level of English (oral and written).

The remuneration of the selected collaborators will be externally funded,  covered through the grants obtained, as mentioned above, as defined in the approved grant.

Candidates are invited to complete this electronic application. Any requests for additional information can be directed to stat-inst@aueb.gr, where can be also sent any attached file to support the above application.
